World class museums, cuisine, culture, entertainment, sports, industry and education all call Chicago home. Chicagoans also boast that their city has a wonderful working class population and great ethnic neighborhoods and foods.

Located on the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan, the “Windy City” offers a wide array of options for visitors. The Adler Planetarium and Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the famed Field Museum are just a few of the great museums to see in town. Don’t forget to check out the Sears Tower, Navy pier, the Shedd Aquarium, and one of dozens of Chicago’s famous deep dish pizza parlors to get a taste of something you can truly only find in the “City that Works”

Catch a show at the Chicago Theater or a game at fabled Wrigley Field if you wish. The city’s steep history also lends itself to interesting attractions like Al Capone’s old haunts and the Tommy Gun Dinner Theatre. The city’s proximity to one of the greatest of the Great Lakes offers the ability to enjoy sightseeing boat rides and fabulous views of the extensive skyline.

There’s so much to do in Chicago that you will simply just have to come back for more!

A center for high-tech companies, science, insurance, real estate, and retail banking, Columbus is crossroad of commerce and business. Situated in the center of the state at the confluence of the Scioto and Olentangy rivers, Columbus became the official state capitol in 1816.

The Statehouse is a must-see while in Columbus. So is the world-renowned Columbus Zoo where Jack Hannah got his start. The Ohio State University campus and student body both make up sizeable parts of the city and population, respectively. A heavy German influence still exists today and is best seen in the German Village.

The Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Garden along with COSI (science and learning center) are excellent educational spots to visit with students, as is the Ohio Historical Society.

Cleveland sits in the Northeast corner of Ohio on the southern shore of Lake Erie, along the Cuyahoga River. The city was founded in 1796 and became a major manufacturing center. John D. Rockefeller, the founder of Standard Oil, made a majority of his fortune in Cleveland, which brought the city to become the fifth largest in the country. The Terminal Tower, located in the heart of downtown Cleveland, was once one of the world’s tallest buildings. Dedicated in 1930, the building was part of a skyscraper boom in the 1920’s and 1930’s.

Culture and Entertainment

Most famously noted for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, this city has points of interest and entertainment for everyone.

If you are interested in the performing arts, the Cleveland Playhouse is noted as the second largest Performing Arts center in the United States. Also noteworthy is the Cleveland Orchestra, considered one of the finest orchestras in the world. To truly appreciate classical music, make sure you bring a lawn chair and see the Cleveland Orchestra perform at the beautiful Blossom Music Center.

The city of Cleveland has also been the spotlight of several movies including Antwone Fisher, A Christmas Story, and scenes of Spiderman 3. The city is also home of the popular sitcom, the Drew Carey Show.

For a historic and charming experience make sure to visit Tremont, one of the city’s oldest and most historically valuable neighborhoods. Take a stroll through a quarter mile of award-winning restaurants, shopping, and historic architecture. Tremont is known for having one of the largest concentrations of architecturally notable churches to be found anywhere in the United States.

In addition to rich culture and architecture, Cleveland offers the prime location for theme park amusement. If you are looking for the biggest and best amusement park in the world, Cedar Point is just a short distance from the heart of Cleveland. The park boasts an impressive 69 rides (17 roller coasters), and holds the title of "Best Amusement Park in the World" for the ninth year in a row (according to Amusement Today) Cedar Point and Geauga lake offer the latest in thrill rides and water attractions, while indoor water park resorts such as Kalahari and Great Wolf lodge give you tropical weather entertainment in the middle of winter.

Sports

Philadelphia is a city rich in history. It played an important role in the birth of the United States. Located in the southern corner of Pennsylvania, it was here that the Constitution was drafted. Also known as the “City of Brotherly Love”, Philadelphia was temporarily the capital of the United States back in the 18th century.

Culture and Entertainment
The city has several historic districts containing architecture dating back to the colonial times. Old city and Society Hill are two districts that contain some of the most influential destinations in United States history including Independence Hall, home of the Declaration of Independence, and the Liberty Bell. Make sure to run, not walk to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The steps leading up to the museum where made famous by the movie Rocky, in which Sylvester Stalone played a well known scene completing his training on the steps before his big fight. Nowadays you will still see people mimicking (or re-enacting) the movie on these famous steps, also known as the “Rocky Steps”.

Along with fascinating architecture and history, Philadelphia has a vibrant night-life. Within Center City, you will find a vast selection of outstanding theatres, restaurants, music, and performing arts. The Philadelphia Orchestra is considered one of the “Big Five” orchestras in the United States, and can be seen playing at the Academy of Music. The Academy of Music happens to be the nation’s oldest continually operating venue.
One of the most famed comfort foods in and around Philadelphia is the Cheese Steak. There are two famed Cheese Steak outlets, Geno’s and Pat’s, which stand directly across the street from each other. Pat’s can be seen and mentioned in both the movie Rocky and a scene in the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Home to the provincial government as well as finance, telecommunications, aerospace, education, medical research and publishing, Toronto is one of the most multicultural and safe cities in the world.

World class art galleries and museums, along with theater and dance make the cities culture quite diverse. Yet, Toronto’s diversity of populace is most likely it strongest characteristic. Over 100 languages and dialects are spoken here amongst the 8.1 million inhabitants. Thus, Toronto has a wonderful international and cosmopolitan feel.

Make sure to check out the world’s tallest freestanding structure, the CN Tower, as well as the Ontario Science Center and The Pier, which is Toronto’s waterfront museum.

Also consider visiting the Royal Ontario Museum and the one-of-a-kind Casa Loma, a medieval castle built by 300 men over the course of 3 years.

And what trip would be complete to Canada without a stop at the Pro Hockey Hall of Fame!!!

Now maintained by the Mammoth Cave National Park, the area contains over 70 threatened and endangered species. Visitors are able to take a wide variety of guided and un-guided tours through the depths of the cave system. One of the most popular tours, known as the Echo River Tours, takes visitors along a boat ride along an underground river. To experience cave exploration like the first explorers in the 1800’s, there is also a three mile guided lantern tour.

Along with exploring the caves underground, there are plenty of above ground activities to take advantage of. Mammoth Cave National Park offers three developed campgrounds along with twelve camp sites in the backcountry. Activities such as hiking, horseback riding, and canoeing are also common within the park area.

The “Big Apple.” This metropolis of more than 8.2 million residents is the most populous city in the United States. It is also the most diverse of our cities, as immigrants from many nations began life in America after passing through Ellis Island and past the Statue of Liberty.

The center of finance, fashion, business, entertainment, media and diplomacy, New York City has an endless amount of options for visitors. World-class museums, art galleries, restaurants, sports events and one-of-a-kind experiences are waiting to be enjoyed, numbering so many that a return trip is a must just to even get a small taste of what the former “New Amsterdam” has to offer.

Hit Broadway for a show, Fifth Avenue or the Garment District for some shopping. Take in unparalleled art exhibits at the Museum of Modern Art or the Guggenheim. View rare and priceless collections at the Museum of Natural History. Take the ferry out to tour the Statue of Liberty or take the elevator to the top of the Empire State building.

New York City is the city that never sleeps and the city of never-ending possibilities.

A proper tour of the city should include stops at the Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, Arlington National Cemetery, and the White House. Tours of the US Capital building, the Pentagon, or Mt Vernon are also highlights of any trip to this great city.

The Smithsonian Museums house everything from rare paintings by the Masters to airplanes and space equipment. One of America’s most treasured monuments, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial offers time to reflect and honor the thousands of men and women who fought and died for our country in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. An evening coasting the Potomac on a riverboat makes for great opportunities to view the city’s lights and attractions.

Washington D.C. is rich in history as well as culture, making a visit there one you will never forget.

Located along Virginia’s Peninsula, the historic district is home to a living 18th century museum. Williamsburg, along with Jamestown and Yorktown make up what is called the Historic Triangle of Virginia. All of the surrounding buildings are either surviving or restored from the original sites in the 1930’s. The historical district is populated with many historical re-enactors that dress, behave, and talk like they would have in the colonial times. During your stay, make sure to stick around for one of the several scheduled re-enactments.

Located within the city are two major theme parks, Busch Gardens and Water Country USA. Busch Gardens is a European themed amusement park, and was voted “The Most Beautiful Theme Park in America” 16 years in a row by the National Amusement Park Historical Association. Make sure to check out their newest rollercoaster “Griffon”, a floorless 205 ft rollercoaster with a 90 degree drop.
